Staying focused!

Good morning / good evening where ever you are in the world my friends, and how are we all doing???

You know it gives me a warm feeling to see everyone get on so well here and love each other in a way that is warm and caring. There are no agendas which is nice to see. I see the only agenda is helping each other... good for you!

I also wanted to let you know that I will be updating the amount of money we are raising manually, and I am going to leave it in my navigation bar as I know that some of you have subscribed to the blog page and I don't want you to keep getting emails every time I change the amount. I know we have had some problems with that. But thank you all those who have donated. I am also going to donate the money I make from my private readings that week too.

2 weeks after the race, We are going to Arizona and we will personally be handing over the money to the founders of Childhelp, so I will make sure we get a photo of that one!

So today.... drum roll......I GOT MY BIKE!!!! WHOO HOOOOOOOO talk about being excited. I have been so busy that Kev has been trailing the stores and checking bikes out and sending me photos from the stores and he came home with a brand spanking new bike!!! YAY!!!

HOWEVER....

It's not Pink Crying. It's BLUE!!! So I now need to get blue and silver sparkly tassels!!! He also bought me a blue top and shorts, talk about being color co-ordinated! ha ha ha And then he told me what time the race was starting.... 6am!!! Now if anyone knows me, they know I am NOT a morning bird, except if I am going to the gym, so it's going to be interesting. I think my boy will be at the finish line as he is staying overnight with some friends and their dad is also in the race too. So I hope I see my boy egging me on at the finish line!

I'm still feeling a little under the weather and so is Charlie, but we are doing well. We came home from school and wrapped up warm. Kev went out for a beer with the guys, and Charlie and I ordered Pizza (yes I know it's not on weight watchers!) we had Avatar on the telly and we were making his lego starwars... well I was, he was flying around the room thinking he was Aang from Avatar and that he had super powers and he could take on the fire nation single handedly. Kids eh!! You gotta love them.

He also sent an email to his dad too, wrote it himself and then he told me that he saw a ghost at school!

Ok he had my attention... then he started to tell me he was doing the 'Bloody Mary' in the toilets... looking in the mirror and saying Bloody Mary 13 times... where do these kids get this stuff from, I had to google it, only because he wanted to see a picture of her...! Distraction worked and we went back to the starwars!

I finally finished his starwars ship after he had gone to bed and I took it in to his room so it would be there for him when he got up and he was awake and his face... oh he just beamed when he saw it! Too cute my boy.

I get so engrossed doing things like that. I love it, I get so focused so much so a bomb could go off and I wouldn't flinch. I think it's because I have been meditating for so long that I have such concentration and I can still my mind like a flicking on a light bulb. It's how I work and do my job. I can go from having a laugh with the crew on the show to then suddenly flicking into a reading. I do it all the time.

And what is interesting I picked up a card just a moment ago and it said,
Concentration. Allowing myself to be totally alone with my inner work. I am focused and unavailable for distractions. I am single minded and clear

And it's so true, sometimes we need to stay focused on something, a project, a goal. We need to be inspired and stay that way. I know I spoke about distractions 2 days ago but we all also need to be focused.

Meditating is the best was of training your mind to be calm and still and when you can do this, you will be surprised how easily it is to be focused on tasks at hand, often getting them done quicker.

I have a technique, I like to place all my emotions in a bag and visualise them at the outside of my door, they do not come in to my work space, I am free of them. I can pick them up when I choose but for that moment that I am working I am focused.

Try it, you may find it helps you. Also if you can just spend 5 minutes each day focusing of you and trying to still your mind. If you have never done anything like this start with a minute and work your way up, you will start to find you can do it longer and you will stay calmer!

Right I am off to beddie byes now, gotta get my sleep I have an interview in the morning.

Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Follow your dreams

Ok, so my body is telling me to stop!!! Suddenly earlier today half way through a reading, my throat felt like I had swallowed glass and I sat after the reading totally drained. Caroline told me to go and lie down... yeah right, you are talking to a workaholic! But bless her, I did listen to her. And when Charlie came home, we all sat around the table and had dinner. I couldn't move! I felt so ill!!

Even Charlie came and cuddled me instead of playing, which is something. But finally after raiding my medicine drawer, I started to feel better.  Kev and I have had an American Idol Evening. We had Tivo'd this week's, and now finally we are watching tonight's episode. I can't believe Simon Cowell's comment to one of the guys... talk about shattering dreams.

No one should ever shatter your dreams. You keep them alive. If you have a talent then you follow your path. Of course be realistic but hold on to your dream and run with it. It keeps you going.

I remember when my music teacher wanted me to learn a new instrument, and I wanted to sing. She told me that I couldn't sing... I was mortified. I kept my cool and took up the flute. I loved it but hated it. But may be she was right as I had been told my others the same.  So I lived for years singing to my self and stopping when someone as within earshot. Finally one day we were at a karaoke with a friend of mine and I would only sing with her, she had an amazing voice and I could hide behind her.  I couldn't believe it and in front of about 200 people she walked off stage and left me standing there... bloody singing on my own.

Imagine how it felt, after years of being told you couldn't sing, to then having cheers and people standing up and wanting more!! It gave me the confidence I needed and then when I sang on stage professionally, I smiled and stuck a finger in the air to my teacher and the rest of them who said that I couldn't and I walked out on stage. It was an amazing feeling, and I went on from strength to strength.  I never gave up on my dreams. I never wanted to be famous, in fact I turned down a record contract, but I held on to that dream to sing.

Never let ANYONE and I mean ANYONE crush your hopes and dreams, keep them alive and go for it, no matter what!

So I feel like we are back in the UK with the rain, Lucy had great fun running around in the puddles in the yard, and came in feeling so chuffled, saying.... "look at me, look at me" and then shaking her coat in front of us!! Oh don't you just love animals and kids... their innocence!

Time to log off and go to bed early tonight, my life is full of important meetings at the moment which is GREAT, and I'm filming on Monday for Deal or No Deal, so I will let you know when it's going to air!

Have fun today, and happy Friday!

Distraction!

Well I am not sure about you but can you feel the energy that is all around us today, and this evening!!! OMG, I am tingling all over. Its not a sexual thing either ;-) it's the vibrations of the universe.... whoo hoo, it's great.

So the Eclipse is an amazing thing, I didn't see it happen, I was too busy watching Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes walking in to the restaurant I was in, but WOW did I feel it... or was that the energy that Tom and Katie have... hmmm Nope I think it was the Eclipse!

I suddenly went all tingly and the feeling hasn't left me. I put my 'babies' (crystals) out before I left and blessed them with loving healing energy and I have left the universe to do the rest. I can't wait to use them tomorrow. I am leaving them out all night, with candles around them. I also did the same with the crystals that I am selling on the site. I emptied them all out of the bags that I had put them in and lay them on the ground and blessed them. They are going to be super charged!

Tonight I was with the new head of TV at Merv's company and he is lovely and we share the same ideas and he was a fan of the show even before he had any idea he could be working with us. Fate had a hand in tonight, and there were so many synchronisties (I can never spell that word) it was unreal! I had never met him before and one of the first things he said was, "you know I'm not sceptical but I am not sure I'm a believer..." Well... that was it, my challenge! "Oh so you wouldn't like to know about your grandad on your mothers side who is standing behind you and is..." blah blah blah. Good job we hadn't started eating I think he would have choked!

Anyway... do you think I could get up this morning...? Nope! But them lot upstairs had other ideas though. Firstly Merv decided to make an appearance then everyone else... so there I was taking notes at 5am after only being asleep for 3 hours! So them I went back to sleep and Kev and Charlie had already left when I woke up just in time to do 2 readings!

So I started the hunt for my bike today... mmmmm it's not going well :( I can't find a pink road bike with tassels... SO I decided to improvise. I bought my helmet and gloves and PINK AND SILVER GLITTERY TASSELS!!! I just need a bike to put them on... ha ha ha I will continue with the hunt tomorrow. But my training is going well and I did 10 miles yesterday and I will do the same tomorrow. It's amazing how many miles I can do on the bike while I am distracted watching Prison Break or the Girls Next Door on my iphone at the gym.

Distraction is something we all need. Well I know I do, but if we are honest we all need it and it's healthy. It gives us something else to focus on, it takes away some of the stress, hurt, pain and negativity in our life. Watching TV, listening to the radio, being on the computer... what ever your distraction is it's great.

The reason why I say this, is that we all sometimes get caught up in life and the ups and downs of life. We focus so much attention on things. We need to let our brain relax, switch off and do something else. Something we don't need to concentrate on... (Ohh this really does relate to me!)

Also when we have lost someone, whether it's an end of a relationship or someone you loved has passed on, we need a distraction. It helps us. We have to take our mind off what is causing us pain. I remember the day that I heard Merv had died. I was flying to SF with some of best friends, Mike and Jonesy and I was up on my computer writing a tribute to Merv and they said, "You know we don't have to go" I knew they meant it, but I needed to go, more than anything. I needed to think about something else. We went out that evening and of course I still had Merv on my mind, but I needed to be distracted. I couldn't even switch on the TV as he was all over the news... so going out and focusing on something else was important for me.

It's important for all of us. But there comes a time and a place where we have to focus back on the task at hand. Whether it's work, family, dealing with loss... whatever it is. We have to come back to reality. Plant our feet firmly on the ground and deal with life. But those few minutes or hours of distraction can really help us get through some tough times.

So never feel guilty when you feel you are not focusing, and you're doing something you want to do. Spirits will not judge you, other people may, but do not judge yourself. It's because we need a break...

Now having said that... back to your life, I've distracted you enough!!! Bouncing a ball.

Have a great day!!!

Lisa xx

PS... Thanks for the donations for the bike ride. I am going to be pitching some companies to see if they want to match what we raise... watch this space!!!
