Staying focused!

Good morning / good evening where ever you are in the world my friends, and how are we all doing???

You know it gives me a warm feeling to see everyone get on so well here and love each other in a way that is warm and caring. There are no agendas which is nice to see. I see the only agenda is helping each other... good for you!

I also wanted to let you know that I will be updating the amount of money we are raising manually, and I am going to leave it in my navigation bar as I know that some of you have subscribed to the blog page and I don't want you to keep getting emails every time I change the amount. I know we have had some problems with that. But thank you all those who have donated. I am also going to donate the money I make from my private readings that week too.

2 weeks after the race, We are going to Arizona and we will personally be handing over the money to the founders of Childhelp, so I will make sure we get a photo of that one!

So today.... drum roll......I GOT MY BIKE!!!! WHOO HOOOOOOOO talk about being excited. I have been so busy that Kev has been trailing the stores and checking bikes out and sending me photos from the stores and he came home with a brand spanking new bike!!! YAY!!!

HOWEVER....

It's not Pink Crying. It's BLUE!!! So I now need to get blue and silver sparkly tassels!!! He also bought me a blue top and shorts, talk about being color co-ordinated! ha ha ha And then he told me what time the race was starting.... 6am!!! Now if anyone knows me, they know I am NOT a morning bird, except if I am going to the gym, so it's going to be interesting. I think my boy will be at the finish line as he is staying overnight with some friends and their dad is also in the race too. So I hope I see my boy egging me on at the finish line!

I'm still feeling a little under the weather and so is Charlie, but we are doing well. We came home from school and wrapped up warm. Kev went out for a beer with the guys, and Charlie and I ordered Pizza (yes I know it's not on weight watchers!) we had Avatar on the telly and we were making his lego starwars... well I was, he was flying around the room thinking he was Aang from Avatar and that he had super powers and he could take on the fire nation single handedly. Kids eh!! You gotta love them.

He also sent an email to his dad too, wrote it himself and then he told me that he saw a ghost at school!

Ok he had my attention... then he started to tell me he was doing the 'Bloody Mary' in the toilets... looking in the mirror and saying Bloody Mary 13 times... where do these kids get this stuff from, I had to google it, only because he wanted to see a picture of her...! Distraction worked and we went back to the starwars!

I finally finished his starwars ship after he had gone to bed and I took it in to his room so it would be there for him when he got up and he was awake and his face... oh he just beamed when he saw it! Too cute my boy.

I get so engrossed doing things like that. I love it, I get so focused so much so a bomb could go off and I wouldn't flinch. I think it's because I have been meditating for so long that I have such concentration and I can still my mind like a flicking on a light bulb. It's how I work and do my job. I can go from having a laugh with the crew on the show to then suddenly flicking into a reading. I do it all the time.

And what is interesting I picked up a card just a moment ago and it said,
Concentration. Allowing myself to be totally alone with my inner work. I am focused and unavailable for distractions. I am single minded and clear

And it's so true, sometimes we need to stay focused on something, a project, a goal. We need to be inspired and stay that way. I know I spoke about distractions 2 days ago but we all also need to be focused.

Meditating is the best was of training your mind to be calm and still and when you can do this, you will be surprised how easily it is to be focused on tasks at hand, often getting them done quicker.

I have a technique, I like to place all my emotions in a bag and visualise them at the outside of my door, they do not come in to my work space, I am free of them. I can pick them up when I choose but for that moment that I am working I am focused.

Try it, you may find it helps you. Also if you can just spend 5 minutes each day focusing of you and trying to still your mind. If you have never done anything like this start with a minute and work your way up, you will start to find you can do it longer and you will stay calmer!

Right I am off to beddie byes now, gotta get my sleep I have an interview in the morning.

Have a wonderful weekend!!!

You know.. I can't do what you do with your gift...

but I will challenge you to a lego competition! Even puzzle challenge if you enjoy those too.. because I Looove doing such things and can sit for hours on end focusing on it, determined to finish (even if it's not really humanly possible to finish in one night..)

Which is ironic because I am infamous for having my brain run at 100 miles per hour (there is always someone or something to think or worry about).. it's so hard to stop the thinking even when I try (hence, difficulties with meditation..:(

Although, I find I can be in the moment and focus on things when I'm watching you do readings for people, working with my clients, etc. When I'm in those situations, it's all about the people next to me, not thinking about my own issues or worries; which in turn, I get the most out of the situation as I can!.. :)

I love it whenever you mention Charlie in your blogs because it could always put a smile on my face. The sweetness and quirkiness of a child.. I just love it! And the Bloody Mary urban legend goes WAY back.. and every kid at one point or another has tried or watched someone try to call her in the mirror! lol Oh the stories that circulated when I was a kid.... Little Charlie is a brave boy!

VERY excited about your bike.. and your entire color coordination! I think pictures of you in complete attire matching your bike would be just as fun as pink tassels on a bike ;P SO sweet of Kev to hunt for all those things for you!

I wonder how long you think the entire marathon would take to ride?

I am most definitely NOT a morning person as well, but if I had to, I could do it. Though I typically don't sleep in much when I'm not home.

Love the little animations that you are starting to insert within your blogs.. too cute.

Alright.. time to squirm in bed with my tummy pain..

Much Love to all,
Vy <3

P.S. Just thought I'd give it a try... Can I go meet the ChildHelp founders with you?? :D :D :D

Hi there,

I had a chuckle because your message about focus is what I needed to hear. I am in the middle of helping organise my own wedding, panicking about finaces and have to stand in front of a crowd tomorrow giving overhead readings!

I have been watching your show here in Australia for 2 months and have credit both yourself and John Edwards (apologies for the unseemly name dropping)for helping my readings become more confident, smoother and more to point.

I do hope the bike ride goes well and hope I can share my own journey with you in the future sometime.

Kindest regards and thanks for the tacit if indirect advice,

Grant

Good luck with your interview!!

A blue bike...yeah, you would have been so cute riding a pink one...but the next best color, I think, is blue--it's my favorite! Kinda ironic if you think about it...you wanted a pink one and got a blue one...and your riding for a children's charity...pink and blue...girls and boys--cool! It's like you got a boy when you wanted a girl...that happened to me too! I have 2 boys, so lots of blue!

Thanks for the focus technique, I'll have to try that one! Thanks for everything Lisa! Love always!

Hey Lisa,
I only have two months left of nursing school and it is extremely important now that I stay focused so I was happy to see the title and blog =). It's cool how they always come at the right time for so many people. I keep getting so bored with it all and spend way too much time on the computer, ect.I've been telling myself I need to stay focused! Will you please send me some good vibes to help me do so and I will try what you said? Have a great day!
I want to donate money but I am almost negative now in my checking =(.

My 6yr old niece came home terrified from school a couple of months ago because kids were talking about Bloody Mary. My sister wanted to prove to her that Bloody Mary would not come through the mirror and kill you so she took poor Hailey into the bathroom, began repeating the name and then Hailey flipped out. I was on the phone with Mom and could hear her screaming and carrying on. I wonder how she'll feel when she finds out Aunt Ginny likes to drink bloody marys?!

It must be such an honor to meet the founders of Childhelp. I can't wait to hear all about it and see whatever pictures you post! Thanks!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING ONE AND ALL!!!!

ok.. that's it ..that's all i got in me...LOLOL just kidding!!!! I actaully slept in a bit today..well... off and on... Glenn got up and let the dogs out which gave me a little more sleep time.. then the dogs came back in...only to want out again 30 minutes later... so now i am up enjoying coffee.. and Glenn is sound asleep LOLOL... oh well he needs it .. my poor baby.. he works hard.

Anyway.... I am so glad the fund rasing is comming along.. i have not "done my thing" yet as i have been busy and everytime i think of it I am not around my credit card.. but i promise i will get it done...

Concentration... stilling your mind.. now THAT is a trick i wish i could do.... i am the type that could be sound asleep and all of a sudden my eyes will pop open and i will think... "Did i do _______??" and i am off and running... forget getting back to sleep.... forget even trying... so i turn on the TV and think......

dang i hate that.. cant tell you how many restless nights have coming from thinking and not being able to shut it down.

When i used to write alot.. it would be like that... all of a sudden i would get an idea and i would be up.. kept a small notebook by the bed... i would sit up and jot things down...

Now when i need to concentrate. i do.. like i bid a lot of construction plans on line... gosh they are annoying LOL... and these are for the big boys... so we are talking $200,000 for PAINT.. yeah... you dont want to screw them up.. and the competition is so competitive... if you are over by $500-$1000.. you wont get the bid....and on the flip side.. if you UNDER BID.. well.... you can kiss the company good bye because you are gonna loose the farm!!

so you really have to concentrate on numbers, sizes, finish schedules etc....

ok.. now that i have bored you all...LOLOLOLOL

OHHHHHH we went to the Boat Show last night... it is funny... all boats of all sizes.... i love boats.... went inside the $1.2 mil one.. and to be honest.. i didnt like it... the layout made no sense and the beds were short... a lot of good that does when your best friends husband is 6'4" and your boyfirend is 6'2"... no one fits!! Well, me and Nadean did. she is 5'4" LOL... anyway.. oddly enough the boat i fell in love with was the one i could actually afford.. someday... many many many years from now LOL..

wow... looks like my concentration is shot since i am all over the board this morning... dang....dogs, topic, boats.... hmmmmmm think i need to focus!! LOLOL.... NEED MORE COFFEE!!!!

well you guys... i am off ... you have a GREAT weekend!!!

I don't think I could do the bike ride, I really don't. I sure admire what you're doing. I have a big old fashioned orange bike with the seat and handlebars all wide so I can sit upright while I ride. My teenage daughter loves it because it looks "vintage". Lol. I love it because it doesn't hurt my neck/shoulders. Take good care of your neck/shoulders on the bike ride. Have a nice heating pad to soothe you that evening.

My son saw a ghost in his school when he was in 2nd/3rd grade and about a year later I was looking online for haunted areas in my part of Michigan and someone had posted about his school. I did't doubt that he saw "something" but that confirmed he wasn't the only one. Was Charlie afraid at all? My son wasn't really afraid, probably because there were other people nearby, more curious than anything.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Lisa, As ever, a great post. We are all getting over the upper respiratory thing here in San Diego, too, so lie low and gather your strength for the bike ride! You'll want your lungs in tip top shape.

I just wanted to thank you again for your meditation CD. It is so well done, and has enabled me to achieve new insights - viewpoints that strengthen me and give me added courage. I don't know if it's your calm voice that feels so familiar because of having watched you on telly, or what it is, but it's great!

So - off I go to use your crystals now and banish the last of this bloody cold! Before long I'll have to install a Lisa Williams Cupboard of Divination and Curatives, since I seem to buy all your products! Ha Ha. Enjoy the rain - should be a cozy weekend here in SoCal.

Good Morning Lisa, I glad you are giving some tips on meditation-just when I needed them the most. I have never been able to meditate my mind never stops which is why I have suffered insomnia for years my brain won't shut down ever it seems. I just started trying again and its rough My mind goes 90 to nothing 24/7 so this is difficult for me. I gotta get though I will take your advice and try just a bit each day. Thank you so much and I am sorry to hear you and Charlie still feel under the weather, hoping and praying you two will be well soon. Love To You Lisa

Hope you have a Great weekend

Sending you Love

Okay, I had to laugh about the bike and then thought it was only fitting. I started to tease you about the PINK stuff the other day. I had guessed your favorite color was pink and you said no, it's BLUE. LOL! So, there you go, that's why you got the blue bike and pink didn't work out. :)

Happy Weekend Lisa and hope you're feeling better. I've had the flu for a week and it's not gone yet. No sleep last night due to the hacking and choking. SIGH!

February 23, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterKaren B.

I read your post and couldn't help but laugh...your son sounds so much like my kids. They all love Avatar- we've gotten into watching it and are waiting for the new episodes. Our boys have been tivo-ing every episode for a year and our daughter Lucy thinks she's Katara!

Meditating...I just can't seem to do it. Maybe it's having 3 kids and all the chaos that comes with it. I'd love to learn to do that though. I sometimes go to the beach and sit and watch the waves. We're lucky to live right on the Pacific Ocean...up from you a bit! Anyway, I'll have to try the techniques you mentioned. Thanks for your little bits of advice-things I wouldn't think about!

Hope you feel better soon-we've all had it too. Ugh. Happy training.

Hello to All~~

I just have to share this great website with you. It is a live camera set up on the Channel Islands right here in California. It is “focused” on an Eagles nest and the mother has been there lately working on the nest and getting it ready. When I went there this morning she was still sitting there (I think she is a late sleeper) and I thought there might be an egg but not yet. I saw her yesterday sitting in the rain! I got interested in this site last year and watched the baby grow up and leave the nest. It is additive…..The female has a red tag on her wing with the number 26 I haven’t seen the male yet this year but he was feeding the baby last year. It is a live feed so what you see is actually happening as you see it, it also has sound… Really wonderful~~ you can only watch during the daylight time in California……… enjoy!

good morning lisa,

i knew you would find your bike soon....and the fact that it's blue makes it even better. blue is a good color..and its my favorite. it makes me smile. and the bloody mary thing...kids used to tease me something horrible with it. to this day i still have trouble looking in mirrors at night. i used to wake up screaming when i was little that she was after me. oye 3rd grade was a bad year for me. i think i might try meditation again...i need some creativity juices...i feel tapped out. anyhoo i hope you have a good day. much love and warm hugs ~ mariah

Hi Lisa,

Great...you've finally got your bike!!! And it's....BLUE!!!! Grear color, I think Kevin did an awsome job with it!

Hope you and Charlie feel better soon, I'm also sick!

Meditating?! I don't know if I'm up to it?! When would I do it?! What is the best time to meditate?!

Big kiss, Cindy

Hey there..just wanted to send a note of encouragement as I read you were doing Weight Watchers. I was on weight watchers for a while and LOVEEEEEEEEEE that you can eat whatever you want as long as you count the points for it. With as much activity as you are doing..you earn activity points for your exercise and those points can be used for extra food or weight loss...NO WORRIES..thats whats so great about weight watchers..and YOU NEED THOSE CARBS!! Keep up the great work!

Greetings Lisa and all!
So glad to hear you got your bike!! How exciting! I wonder if Kev isn't partial to blue (as for boys)...Lol Just teasing. He is quite a guy! Just like little Charlie. Wish I could clone them both! I so miss those days.
They grow up sooooo fast! You're such a great Mum. And he looks just like you.
Lisa, I am having trouble ordering a meditation CD.....I am not a "techy geek" like you are.....it takes all I have to navigate on here. I try to check out and it comes up "retry"......so I hit "retry" and it comes up again! I gave mine to a friend who can't afford it and now I am freaking out because I can't get another....you know me! Lol Any suggestions??????

To Melissa E. Just hang in there! You are in the home stretch now! You have done the worst. Your bank account will fill up in no time once you graduate! I nursed for 32 years and would do it all over again! It's a great career! WE NEED YOU! Best wishes to you, too!

greetings Lisa,

I'm agreeing with Melissa E! All of your blogs seem to come at the right time and in the right place. Like I keep saying, thank you for holding the mirror up ;-)

And your little boy is seeing the invisibles..? (Long, refreshing sigh) innocence is so amazing! Almost as amazing as kids!

Sorry to hear youre still a little under the weather..but you are healed ;-) Keep listening to your body...ummmm...for some reason the thought crossed my mind for you to do your stretches daily....keep your body loose and helps you release any tension that you may have, especially around the race..but I'm sure you already know that...

Good luck to you in the race! Im pulling for you winning but more than anything , Im pulling for you and knowing that you will finish! oh and most of all, HAVE FUN! :-D

Much love to you Lisa and to everybody who reads the blogs...

Peace and Light
Rob
