Affirmations

Finishing high school and going off to college was a big step for me, just like it would be for anyone. I was thrilled to move onto bigger and better things, excited to see the great opportunities that lie ahead of me, and ecstatic to meet new people! However, I was scared realizing that college is the transformation of a student into the real world and becoming an independent adult. I was unsure about what I wanted to study; for it potentially being my lifetime career and I did not like that feeling of uncertainty. Not knowing what I wanted to do for the rest of my life got me thinking I did not have an interest in my future nor the knowledge to succeed. This is how I began losing belief in myself and I did not know what I could do to fix my problem.
I have always been a fan of affirmations because they were short and straight to the point. Being a true believer in them, I would recite, “I believe in myself” in the mirror every morning. At first, it was hard to get into the habit of saying it everyday, but soon enough I said it without having to remind myself. It did not seem like much, but after a few weeks I was more confident going to school, participating in class, and my thoughts about my undecided career were becoming less hazy. I was soon to decide on a career in public relations and advertising and felt confident in doing so. Now I am on my third year atDePaulUniversityand am ready to fulfill my degree!
These last two years of college have made me realize how important it is to believe in yourself and not doubt your decisions. I use the affirmation “I believe in myself” to remind myself that having doubt will not get me where I need to be. By believing in myself I have come to understand that living is learning; so I take chances, make mistakes, and learn from them!
Use the power of affirmations and believe in yourself!!! It will make your journey thorough life much more positive, healthy, and enjoyable. You will soon realize the great outcomes life brings from a simple look in the mirror, reciting of an affirmation, and a smile on your face because you believe what is being reflected!
Always Believe,
Natalie

Hey Natalie, I think everyone can relate to this on some level. Thank you!
I loved this. I'm in the process of collecting positive affirmations--this one fits in with the rest. I am getting out of a rough period in my life so, I'm definately going to keep this blog in mind. THANKS AND YOU ROCK!
Natalie,
How true. Thanks for a wonderful blog. I, too, have to look in the mirror daily and say "I believe in myself.!"
XOXO

Natalie, a beautiful, heartfelt blog! Thank you.
Hello Natalie & Lisa, beautiful blog Natalie and I am trying and trying to tell my self every day that I can do whatever it is that I want and I will believe in myself!!! Cannot wait to get the new t-shirt in the mail as this is something I have always told my children when they were growing up and would forget to remember it for myself. Love this new "Affirmation" week as I needed it!!

Thank you for your blog Natalie! =)
I think I felt the same way when I was in college, but I'll tell ya... you got yourself together a lot faster than I did! lol And I think it's such a great thing for you to have been able to believe in yourself and help lead yourself towards success so early on in your life! That's a great inspiration! and I am sure there are many who are struggling in the same ways who could benefit from the affirmations that have helped you.
I have always loved how straight to the point affirmations are as well!
Thanks again for sharing Natalie!
