Back to hugging my boy!
Thursday, October 8, 2009 at 09:57PM Finally we made it back after what was a delay of about 9 hours!!! I am so thankful that I had the call from Qantas to tell me what had happened so that I wasn't hanging around an airport all day. We had a lazy afternoon at the hotel with afternoon tea with mom and dad, and then we all headed to the airport together.
It was great to be at the airport and I am so glad that I was engrossed in reading my book or I wouldn't have been able to sit still I was like a kid waiting for Christmas. I couldn't wait.
The flight was of course long and boring, but after popping 2 herbal sleeping tablets that I had picked up in the UK (I never take them but decided I needed to be on top form for my boy) I fell into a slightly uncomfortable, dreamless sleep for about 7 hours... oh yay!
I couldn't believe it when I came to check my watch, I had only 2.5 hours left of the flight... perfect. Butterflies in my tummy now as I was worrying about getting back in time to pick him up from school. Thankfully our fabulous sitter Tanya was able to pick him up from school but we made it back in time anyway.
So we arrived and thankfully Jonesy had left a key for mom and dad before she set off to San Francisco with her dad today. So mom and dad made themselves at home and waited for us to arrive (we were on different flights)
We arrived and I took Dad out for a spin in my car, and drove by Charlie's school and that was it... he was there... what a sight for sore eyes!!! My boy... looking straight at me, with Tanya.
He ran up and gave Dad a huge hug and then looked at me and shrugged his shoulders and said... "Hey Mom!" ha ha ha so typical! I grabbed him and told him the mommy monster was back and that was it, we laughed and have laughed all night.
It was beautiful to spend time with him, chatting and catching up and doing the dreaded homework, but it was fantastic to be near him and with him.
So it's lovely to be back, and I can't wait to spend a night in my own bed, the only thing is, I'm not sure if I'll be able to get out of it in the morning!
Thanks to everyone who came to see me on my tour of UK, Oz, and NZ we had a great time and it's been fantastic to see parts of the world I only ever dreamed about.

(((((((((Lisa))))))))) I just HAD to get up (3:30am) to see if u had posted of your reunion with (((((((Charlie))))))).....I went to bed last night with it on my mind...woke up and started thinking of it again and just had to get up and see if u had posted of it:) I had to LOL at how he acted seeing you...shrugging his shoulders and the "hi Mom" tooooooo funneeeeeeeeee I am so happy that the two of you enjoyed the evening together laughing and having fun....my heart is warmed by the visions of this.
I didn't realize your parents were coming back to your house...how wonderful this is that all of you are together and am sure Charlie is delighted that they are there. I am also happy that your parents have this opportunity and am sure your Nana is looking down upon all of you and smiling knowing you all have this time together. (she is nodding her head in approval)
The "butterflies in tummy" and feeling like a "kid waiting for Christmas" is exactly how I felt the first time coming to see one of your shows so I know exactly what you are talking about:)

I never been good at sleepin on planes either and am scared of takin any sleepin tabs but those herbal ones sound like sumat i might try.....will have to get more info from ya when we see ya on tha cruise.....only 21 more sleeps....i cant wait were gettin soooo excited....kinda like u n Charlie....lol ......i promise i wont shrug my sholders at ya and say "o hi Lisa".....lol i will be gettin the HUGZ on.....lol

I am so glad that your mum and dad were able to come back with you. Now they have the chance to see your home and hopefully what you do here in the USA. You are so blessed my love.
