Final day in NZ
Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 01:57AM As the final day comes to a close in New Zealand, I have to say it's been a trip that I will never forget. It started out a little rocky with my dad but it's turned out to be perfect.
The final day was spent on Waiheke Island which is beautiful and if you ever go to visit NZ you HAVE to go and see it. The views are breathtaking and stunning and the people are such as amazing!
The final night in Auckland, I did a reading for a couple, Alan and Lynne and I practically looked right at him and said 'I need to speak to Alan' and this lovely Liverpool couple stood and I read for them. When I met them after the show, they gave me their card and we actually visited them today on the Island and they have the Beach Cafe... which is stunning.
Great food overlooking the most perfect setting ever, you are in paradise, and I can understand why so many people move here. It's gorgeous. Even mom and dad are regretting that they didn't move here 34 years ago.
So we are packed and ready to board our flight back to the US in the afternoon and I have to say I can't wait. I have loved every minute of it, but I am itching to see Charlie, Mike, Jonesy, Caroline, Trish, Henni and the Dogs... I just want to wiggle my nose and be there!
There has been some memorable readings, so funny readings and very serious readings, but what I do know is it's been a journey of a lifetime that I have been able to give my parents and also a time I will never forget.
So as I close my passports are sitting here ready to be taken and next time you hear from me I will be in the comfort of my own home and hopefully my bed!
It's always nice to be away and as they say a change is as good as a rest, but going back home, in the words of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, there is no place like home!
With lots of love
Lisa xx

It's so nice to hear you speaking so highly of this part of the world. I love it in Oz... absolutely zero regrets about moving my family here from England for a better life! At least you've managed to relax & enjoy a little before leaving us to go back home. Charlie will certainly be happy to see you both! Go home, rest up. Stop working yourself too hard lady lol. We all hope to see you back in this part of the world again :-D Thanks again for an amazing night in Brisbane!

Safe journey back home to you Lisa and your family. Thank you so much for your time, sharing of your amazing gift and peace you have given to us all over the past few weeks. Hope to see you again next time...Love Julie x
Dear Lisa,
You've touched the hearts and souls of so many people,
That you will live eternally in us;
We are ever grateful for the small amount of precious time
Afforded us, throughout your trip.
We are honoured to have participated in some small way
In making your trip memorable.
I have no regrets moving to Oz -
I've been here now for 36 years!
How time flies!
If you should ever venture by this way again,
Please call in and say 'Hi'
The water's warm
The sun shines hot
The beer is cold
The wine is chilled
With prawns on the barbie
What more could you want!!!

Thank you for sharing your trip with us, I've been reading your blogs and can tell it's been a whirlwind of a tour. You've made me want to visit Australia and NZ, though, their tourist board should hire you to do their marketing!
Have a good trip home, hope you don't run into any delays.
Lisa, thank you again for coming to visit Perth. You are overdue for some much needed rest and there is nothing like returning to your own bed, pillow and the comfort of friends, family and pets!!! May you have a restful and safe journey home!
Perhaps one day you, Kev and Charlie can "holiday" (yep no work!!) in Oz and visit the wonderful cities and all they have to offer :)
Look forward to seeing you again when you return to Oz.
Love and Warm Fuzzies,
Vikki (peridot) xx
Something to read to remember me by:
My darling love
I know you're there
I sense your presence everywhere.
My precious one
I cannot see
Your gentle face but know its thee.
Oh! baby girl
When I'm asleep
You bring me lullabies so sweet.
I journey on
Without you now
Along life's road I don't now how.
My empty heart
And lonely soul
Miss you so much - life takes its toll.
It's only when
I'm so alone
I dare to weep, to grieve and moan.
When will this pain
And sorrow ease
And we are free to ride the breeze.
I know you're there
Waiting for me
I'll not be long now just you see.
Hold me tight
In case I fall
My precious angel now my all!
A butterfly
Catches my eye
As upwards through the air I fly.
Susanna

I'm really glad you enjoyed NZ so much. I remember when I was in Madrid, I had met a couple from NZ and they were SO nice and we've kept in touch since then.
It is indeed a beautiful thing to have shared all this adventure with your parents, this is a good thing. I would love to share travels with my mum but she doesn't seem opened to it yet so it's a pity. Every year I try to organise something to take her but she always ends up finding excuses to say no ;-(
Yes it's always nice to come back home and charming little Charlie is waiting for you !!!
So enjoy your warm home Lisa and have a good flight ! ;-))
Lots of love,
Lise

Dear Jenny and friends,
Yes - all my poems are written by me. I'm glad you enjoyed that little verse. Poems are great ways to say how we feel without using too many words. So few words say so much!
Susanna
